Tim Carter became a carpet installer back in the days when it took more than a van and a tool pouch to qualify. Those were the days when carpet installation was considered a craft requiring tight seams, precision cuts, and an eye for detail. After sixteen years experience, Tim started his own carpet sales and installation company to serve the needs of contractors and decorators. In 2004, he and his wife Linda founded Custom Cut Flooring in Brecksville to provide local residents with the same quality carpet and installation that had previously been available only to professionals. We met with Tim and Linda recently, and listened as they taught us about the carpet and flooring industry;

Custom Cut Flooring is a full-service, residential and commercial flooring center carrying all the major brands of flooring. Our carpeting ranges from high-end products to carpeting suitable for rental properties. We carry Shaw and Mohawk carpeting, vinyl flooring by Armstrong and Congoleum, and hardwood flooring by Mannington , Mirage, Bruce, and Mercier. We do custom tile work, including showers, bathrooms, back-splashes, and we even have frost-resistant tile that can be installed on patios.

We don't work on commission in our store, so there's never any high pressure. We're family-owned and operated, and our eighteen year old daughter Chloe helps with the computer, while our sixteen year old son Ben has become a very good helper for the installers. As owners, we're here everyday, and we provide our customers with access to interior decorators if needed. We're very particular about the quality of our installers. When we go over a plan with a customer and tell them where their seams are going to be, our installers are not allowed to deviate from that plan without speaking to us and our customer. Quality is number one with us, and we're always available to answer our customers' questions.

In addition to Chloe and Ben, we have a twenty-one year old son, Alex, who's serving in Afghanistan right now in Special Operations, and a twelve year old daughter, Emily, who enjoys sports. We have a horse, a dog, and a cat, and all the kids just love their pets.
