From the tender young age of five, Rosemarie Amato grew up in the restaurant business. Her parents opened the very first pizzeria in Maple Heights in 1955, and Rosemarie has owned her own business since 1980. In 1993 she opened the Warren Tavern in Lakewood where she earned an enviable reputation not only for her food, but as an extraordinary hostess. When continuing re-development efforts claimed her Lakewood location, she moved her business to Brecksville in late 2005 where she has taken over the 8,500 square foot space formerly known as Hunter's Pub, and before that as Marco Polo's and The Spanish Tavern. We visited with Rosemarie recently, and listened as she described the offerings of Bella Moon and The Warren Rathskeller;
Bella Moon and The Warren Rathskeller have been designed to maintain the feel of The Spanish Tavern in a location that's dear to the hearts of Brecksville residents. We have a wonderful building that's over one hundred years old offering three delightful floors of hospitality, including dining, entertainment, wines, beers, and liquors. Our first floor is called The Warren Rathskeller and features great pub-style food, as well as over three-hundred different beers, the largest selection in the county. We also have a wonderful selection of wines, and of course a selection of liquors.
On the second floor you'll find our main entrance which opens to our upscale, casual dining restaurant called Bella Moon (Beautiful Moon). We have an international menu filled with Appetizers, Seafood, Pasta, Steaks and Chops, Specialty Meats, Chicken, and Home-Style Classics, in addition to nightly specials such as our 17 oz. Prime Rib on Saturday nights.
Our third floor is where we host private parties, events, and meetings. Within the next few years we'd like to open a martini and wine bar for couples upstairs, and an outdoor patio for the warmer months.
Although our main restaurant is named Bella Moon (Beautiful Moon), we're not an Italian restaurant. The moon is as international as our food. No matter who you are, where you're from, or how old you are, everyone can relate to the moon, and no matter what you like or what you do for a living, you'll feel comfortable with the ambiance and food of Bella Moon.
