The early 1980s saw the advent of a host of environmental regulations including those addressing hazardous waste, superfund, and underground storage issues. ATC Associates Inc. was founded in response to many companies' new-found needs for expert consulting services dealing with compliance and reporting demands. ATC opened its Cleveland office in 1989 and in 2002 moved its local office to Brecksville, Ohio. We met recently with Branch Manager Chester J. ATC Associates Inc. is an environment consulting firm with nearly 2,000 experts throughout the country. There's almost no challenge that one of us hasn't encountered at some time in our careers, and we actively share this cumulative experience with each other and our clients. We address a wide range of concerns, including regulatory compliance, health and safety concerns, environmental impacts, and aging infrastructure. Much of the work performed from this office is for large national accounts such as retail gasoline stations. When they experience gasoline tank leaks we help them determine the nature and size of the problem, in addition to the most effective method for cleaning it up and returning to compliance with environmental regulations. We also perform Phase I Environment Site Assessments for property buyers and sellers to discover potential environmental liabilities that may include leaking underground storage tanks, asbestos and mold problems, and the expected financial cost of addressing these issues in the future.
We also deal with air wetland, polution compliance and storm water management issues. We also provide industrial hygiene services including indoor air quality, asbestos and mold inspections for commercial clients and school systems. Our geotechical division determines soil conditions at proposed building sites prior to the building of commercial buildings and roadways.
We differentiate ourselves by being very responsive to our clients' needs. Usually when clients call, they need immediate assistance addressing a host of complicated issues. We respond very quickly to resolve their needs and meet whatever deadlines they face. This policy of rapid-response has been very successful, not only for our national clients, but for the local companies and businesses we serve, also. We have over 70 offices located throughout the United States, including offices in Columbus, Dayton, and Cincinnati. Locally we presently employ a staff of eighteen, and plan to add between two and five new associates this year.
